Funäsfjällen

The mountain world around Tänndalen and Fjällnäs in western Härjedalen.

Funäsfjällen has been my home mountain range since childhood. I grew up racing on these slopes, and the fells around Tänndalen and Fjällnäs shaped who I am long before I ever picked up a camera. It's still the place I return to for quiet, camera or no camera. Most of these photographs come from first light, when the valleys are still in shadow and the air is sharp with cold, or from deep winter when snow muffles every sound. The red cross of a ledkryss trail marker shows up again and again — a small sign that someone has gone before, and a quiet nod to how much respect this landscape demands. Many of these images end up on the walls of cabins and holiday homes right here in the area, hung by people who want the mountains a little closer to everyday life. The muted winter tones suit timber interiors especially well, while a larger dawn print holds its own on a bright living-room wall. Every image here can be ordered as a framed print, canvas or poster via Printler, as a metal poster via Displate, or downloaded directly in high resolution from its own page.
